Matt Marello was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, and holds a degree in Fine Art from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. His video work, which often involves placing himself as an actor in already-existing films, has been exhibitied both nationally and internationally, including The Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center, The Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania (forthcoming), Rice University Art Gallery, Arizona State University Art Museum, and the Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius, Lithuania. His work is represented by Bill Maynes Gallery in New York, Aeroplastics Contemporary in Brussels, &: GB Agency in Paris, and Il Ponte Contemporanea in Rome. He lives and works in New York City.
